Education

Middle Bay Solutions II provides Web and Technology services in support of many science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and Custom Training programs. These services are possible through a three-tiered service offering: program design and execution, strategic planning and resource prioritization, and evaluation and goal setting. Our capability offerings include:

  • Training consulting to define customer requirements and expectations: Determine the different areas (e.g. performance management, career plans, etc.) that need to tie in with the training needs identification. Based on the client discussion, define and conduct the training needs identification process

  • Development of training materials in blended learning environments (e-learning, classroom): Convert traditional classroom training into a blended learning format provides trainees and trainers the opportunity to interact with each other and to learn the material in both a face-to-face and online environment. Blended classrooms allow for interactive and collaborative online learning, where trainers have strong command of their subject matter and have the ability to provide both digital and written texts. Additionally, leverage a server to ensure trainees have access to resources and assignments at all times

  • Coordinating and conducting training sessions: Lead logistics coordination for training sessions by identifying trainers, planning training dates, ensuring locations are set, providing materials to trainees, delivering the training, supporting group feedback, administering tests, and conducting the final evaluation

  • Custom Learning Management System (LMS) design and development: Customized LMSs help clients build new capabilities and increase workforce performance through training and employee development. It includes capabilities across the full life cycle of employee development and training, including competency identification and assessment, design and development of learning programs and curricula, and delivery of education across multiple methods (including classroom, workplace, and desktop). Middle Bay Solutions also provides strategic consulting to help the effectiveness and efficiency of their learning development function

  • LMS administration and training for LMS administrators: Work within clients’ existing LMS infrastructure to develop, test, and implement LMS patches and upgrades. Maintain deep knowledge of current industry trends, staying abreast of changes as they occur. Participate in the evaluation of other learning management tools that might be used to supplement the current environment. Develop strong relationships with staff to ensure the effective use of LMS tools to enhance learning

  • Provide assistance in Verification and Validation and test script development: Provide clients with Verification and Validation (V&V) techniques performed for the LMS to identify defects from the perspective of the builder of the product and to identify defect from a user (or customer) perspective. Defects are typically found because requirements specifications accurately reflect the information provided by the system stakeholder (e.g., end user) but the information provided was incorrect or did not fit, requirement specifications do not accurately reflect the information provided by stakeholders, or requirement specifications do not meet the system requirements

  • Web portal development: Design, develop, and maintain web services for clients. Analyze user needs to determine technical requirements. Create design documents, and develop and test web portal using an ASP.NET environment

  • DotNetNuke Content Management System: An open source ASP.NET application framework and content management system, it takes care of many of the features common to web applications: login, user accounts, user roles and privileges, database access, site structure, internationalization, etc. This allows developers to focus on their application’s core functionality

  • Moodle Learning Management System: Moodle is an open-course course management system (CMS) designed to help educators create quality online courses with emphasis on social constructivist pedagogy. Moodle helps with user registration, tracking participation (classroom attendance, sign-ons and sign-offs of online courses), tracking completions (including final scores or grades), testing, follow-up discussions with participants, building aggregated reports (e.g., the number of people registered for particular courses), transferring information to other systems (e.g., human resource information systems), process charges for courses (e.g., tuition payments and transfer payments among departments), course catalog, competency and skills management, and annual certification curricula

  • Mediasite videoconferencing/streaming and technology support services: Leverage a presentation tool that allows trainers to make live digital recordings of lectures or presentations. Trainees can view the presentation over the internet in real-time and/or can access the presentation for viewing at a later date. This helps clients make content available on demand anywhere over the internet, provide a useful for review and study tool after viewing a lecture, and create thumbnail index of presentation for individually paced direct access to specific topics
